This past week I've been reminded that I do not have the power to fix everything I'd like to fix in life. That makes me feel kind of weak. It's times like these we all need to take another look at 2 Corinthians 12:9&10. This is where Paul talks about his own weakness.
God's words to Paul were, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Paul's response, "Therefore I will boast all them more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." Paul goes on to say, "I delight in weaknessess, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Our culture values strenght over weakness. The Bible teaches that when we recognize our weaknesses and turn to the Lord we our strong. Feeling weak today? Turn to Jesus and be strong in Him.

Completion
This morning I've been thinking about areas in my life where I feel I should be a little farther along. My mind has gone to sin struggles I wish I didn't struggle with. Ever think about that stuff and start to beat yourself up for not being more what you think God wants you to be? The Apostle Paul started his letter to the church in Philippi out this way, "I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of my partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:3-6)
Paul was confident that the Holy Spirit would continue to work in the hearts and minds of his friends in Philippi. Today, you and I can be confident the Holy Spirit will not give up on us either. If you are discouraged don't give up! Cooperate with the Holy Spirit as He continues to mold and shape you. God has begun a good work in you and He will complete what He started. Be encouraged. At times the road of life is rough. Sometimes it feels like you go backward more than forward. The path of life is never straight for long. God is working His plan our in your life even when you don't see it. Let's hang in there together and do our best to stay in step with the Holy Spirit.
